9th socks finished

I finally finished those Noro striped socks that I started way back in July. JULY! I can't believe it took me 6 months to knit a simple pair of stockinette socks. I can unequivocally say that sock knitting is not my passion. I like sock knitting, but mostly because it's small, will fit in my purse and because I knit on DPNs, has an air of complication and danger when knit in public. 

It's almost Christmas Eve, so I'll make this quick and all about the photos. As always, the dirty details are on Ravelry.

I know this happens to everybody. You turn around and suddenly there are babies everywhere. We've had two new ones in the Vancouver family this year and one of my best pals from my Whistler days had a wee babe last month. (Wait, that was two months ago. Oh crap, I'm further behind than I thought.) I had the best of intentions to make goodies for all these lil' chickens, I really did. I wanted to knit a Baby Surprise Jacket. I wanted to knit a second Saartje bootee. I wanted to finish up that quilt I started 80 million years ago.

Eh, what can I say. I didn't get any of those things done. Instead, I capitalized on my friend's genius and bought from Soto Softies. If you're not familiar with Maritza's work, you should really check it out. Impeccable detailing, great colour choices and dood, teh supercute!

See? She's genius. I want to start making one right the eff now, but I'm flying to Vancouver tomorrow, my sewing machine is in for a tune up and hello!? Would I really get it finished before Christmas? No. No, I would not. But look out Penguin, you're first on my list of stuff to make as soon as I get home because I know I'm going to turn around again and someone else will be having a baby.

last update before Xmess

BazBiz was a rousing success and as expected, there was plenty left over for the shop. I just did a HUGE update and the shop is OPEN! This will be the last update I can manage before the holidays, so shop early, shop often.

I'm heading to Vancouver for Christmas with my family, so I'm going to have to shut down the shop on the 15th. You'll want to have everything in the mail on its way to you by then anyway, so it should work out just fine.

Oh, and the replacements for those stolen zippers have arrived, so the boxbags will start appearing in early January. Yay!

The sewing is finished, the pricing tags are on, the inventory is complete. I'm officially all set for Bazaar Bizarre Boston tomorrow. If you're going to be there, come by and say hi. Please don't be shy, I'll be happy to hear some familiar names!

I can't begin to tell you how exciting it was that I didn't have to prepare for a photo yesterday. Woohoo! Truth be told, I'll probably do a second year of 365, I just want to take a couple days (or weeks) off.
