In all the upheaval of house renovation (new entry doors, no bathroom and random painting,) I have been knitting. Not a tonne, but a little. March seems to have evaporated and I'm not sure I have anything to show for it except a few inches of sock cuff and a thin film of dust throughout the entire house.
These socks are a gift knit and are way overdue. We're talking end of January overdue. They originally began as a garter rib out of green Sophie's Toes but they have magically morphed into the Cable Rib Socks (from Favorite Socks) in Socks That Rock. I'm sincerely hoping that the squooshyness of the STR will make up for the belatedness of the birthday present. Think I'll be forgiven?
doesn't squishiness always make up for lost time? :) I can't believe how fast March has gone!

Wait, isn't it still February?! I love how the STR is spiraling! And oh, such a subtle and clever cable...

The socks look lovely! What colorway STR is that, if you don't mind my asking?
Posted by: Sami | March 28, 2007 at 15:37
I probably should have mentioned that! The colour is Monsoon from the February STR Club Kit

Yes, you'll be forgiven. (Or at least *I* would forgive you.) That STR is yummy!

I was going to ask about the colorway. Thanks for clarifying that. It's beautiful.
No sane person will care about timing when the gift includes the words handknit, socks, and STR in it.

I love the pattern that you're using--I went with the STR club pattern, and I like it, but it's good to see other options too.
