Just in time for the end of Socktober, I finished the Dublin Bay Strange Little Mama Socktoberfest Vesper Socks (bit of a mouthful, eh?)
Pattern: (pdf warning) the Dublin Bay socks from Mossy Cottage
Yarn: Vesper Sock Yarn in the Strange Little Mama colourway. How do you get yarn named after you? So cool.
Needles: Size 1 US Inox DPNs
Modifications: The first sock was knit with the one by one ribbed cuff. When I started turning the heel I decided I didn't like it, so I knit the second sock with a two by two rib. I like it much better, even though it makes the socks fraternal rather than identical.
Started: October 1st
Finished: October 26th, 6 days behind schedule. I may have been distracted by Clapotis along the way.
Total cost: $23 for the yarn
Final Verdict: I took my time making sure the stripes would line up the same so I get a kick out of the fact that the cuffs don't match.
love them!!
(and... all I did was suggest a colorway based on my [then} blog colors!)

One of these days I really need to learn how to turn a heel properly. Excellent hot socks. The unmatchy cuffs make them all the hotter.

Love the socks! I'm partial to fraternal socks - then again, wherever possible I avoid doing anything exactly the same way twice.

Fabo socks! You find the best colors. But your penchant for short socks begs the question...What, oh what, will you do with all the leftover yarn? At least with my big feet and preference for long socks, I don't have to worry too much about that question. As many socks as I have knit, it galls me at times that there are still so many sock yarns I have yet to try. What a dilemna!

Gorgeous! And you've got that sock pose down pat!! (But seriously, $23 for socks is a wee bit much, don't you think? Then again, you do get the entertainment factor.)

Guess I haven't checked in in awhile...bloglines counted 46 posts of yours I hadn't seen. I can't comment on them all so here's a comprehensive comment. You have been so busy! So many FOs. So many lovely socks and other things. Love the Orangina on you, all the great stripey socks and the Clapotis from your recent post. Glad I found the time to start reading blogs again. Very inspiring!
