My mum flew to Boston for the party this weekend and brought a few of my old quilt projects with her. When I moved down to Austin I only had enough room in my car for one or two craftster disciplines, so I had to choose between a few ongoing projects. I sent my knitting down a few months ahead and only brought minimal fabric stash for quilting. I've been snapping pics of the projects Mum brought with her and I'll be adding photos this week to the WIPs and the All Done albums. It was fun to pull out some of these old projects and reacquaint myself with them.
Today's feature quilt:
B'comb Staff T-shirt Quilt

Working for the same company for 12 years tends to yield a lot of swag. This quilt was made from 36 shirts that I had kicking around in a drawer. I could easily have made about 3 of these quilts, but every year I took a dozen or so shirts and gave them away. This quilt was made from the leftovers. I know - it's staggering how many I had. Each shirt was stabilized with some fusible interfacing on the back; it's made it a LOT easier to deal with. Once I get my act together and decide on a backing, I'll sandwich this thing and quilt in the ditch between the shirts. It's big enough now to easily fit over a queen size bed.
