I figured if I was going to dig out all the yarn I own, I should dig out all the yarn associated with my works in progress too. Some have been languishing in my knitting drawer for so long that I'd moved them to their own special place in the closet to free up space in the drawer. So sad.
From left to right:
Technically this isn't a WIP. The sweater has been finished since April 2005 but I haven't worn it once. I'm not happy with the finishing around the neck, I never sewed down the hem along the hood, the yoke isn't long enough to reach over my shoulders, the zipper is still just basted in. That damn hood to forEVER to knit, but I think it's gotta go. I'm going to put the yoke back on the needles below where I had cast off for the next edge and make it fit properly.
Good lord, this one has been lingering forever. I posted about having trouble finishing this one in November of 2004. It's taken me over two years to thread the yarn and sew 8 stitches to get that pocket on. 8 STITCHES! Sheesh. I am going to sew on the last pocket and send it to my niece this afternoon. Sometimes my procrastination tendencies can be ridiculous.
Hooray for Me Gloves.
Hooray? More like Boo for Me, I've been such a slacker. These have been waiting with 3 fingers and a thumb left to knit since July. The dirty secret is that the first hand was knit too big, so I switched to smaller needles for the second one. They're WAY too different in size now. The fingers are unfortunately too tight on both of them, but I just don't care enough to reknit them, so I'm going to riiiiiiiiP!
Lace Leaf Pullover.
This was my Knitting Olympics project. I knit all the pieces during the Olympics and then set it all aside to finish the kitchen remodel. I started grafting the top and bottom halves together last June but never finished. It's knit at too loose of a gauge and the colour is hideous. I think I might try to finish the graft and throw the whole thing in a dye pot. If I still hate it, who knows. I might just burn the yarn for fun.
I started this drop stitch cable scarf in November 2005 intending it to be a Christmas gift. Two years later the recipient has moved to Nashville and the scarf still isn't done. I seem to have misplaced the chart I'd made up for it too. Talk about stalled! Hopefully when I finish sorting through my office pre-move the pattern will turn up and I can finish it. Sorry Mary!
Green Man Socks
The yarn is Sophie's toes and I love it, but it's wanting to be something other than these socks. I don't like the brown Koigu heels with this green either. I think I'm going to rip and start anew.
So that's it. That's the sum total of my WIP/RIP pile with the exception of Wicked, which deserves a loving post of it's own. My conscience is clean and I'm ready for the next round of Startitis.
