Plans are underway for my first trip back to Vancouver in over a year and a half. I'll be there for 2 weeks mid-August. It'll be great to get out of the heat of Austin and into the best part of summer in Van. When we were originally planning the trip, it was going to coincide with the Yarn Harlot's Seattle book tour stop (and then the Vancouver date added later). As it turns out we had to switch things up so I'm going to miss both engagements. I'm bummed, but I'm sending my mum to the Vancouver stop so hopefully she can say hi for me and get some pics.
The big plan before I go is to turn these 2 palettes of IKEA boxes into our fabulous new kitchen. It means that knitting and sewing time will be scarce over the next 2 weeks, but we'll have a terrific cooking space when I'm done. As it stands right now, 75% of our kitchen stuff is still in boxes from the move. We're waiting on lil' ol' procrastinating me to get moving on the tear out and rebuild. (Actually, professionals are doing the tear out, I'm just doing the rebuild)
Guess I better get moving on that!
